Thanksgivings and Prayers

December 2020 and January 2021

Matthew 12v15-22 "In his name the nations will put their hope."

For the Gravesend Deanery

Pray for wisdom and energy for Nigel as Area Dean as he acts as a go-between and encourager in many situations - not least across the church schools in the Deanery - and tries to encourage the clergy and other ministers, especially where there is a vacancy. Pray for head teachers and staff of all church and parish schools, for the development of our links with schools, and for churchwardens and lay leaders across the Deanery.

Huggens College, Northfleet

During our second lockdown Collegians have received a weekly update, notices, Sunday readings, a short sermon, prayers and activities in isolation; we welcomed two new Collegians in the last month, but said goodbye to a Collegian moving to a Care Home. We pray for a suitable applicant to join the College.

We are organising a ‘Living Advent Calendar’ with Collegians planning to decorate windows with the individual days of Advent being displayed, for Collegians to walk around college for their daily exercise!

Pray for Collegians anxious about further Christmas restrictions and how this will affect visits to family. We thank God for those who serve the College; residential staff, gardeners, those giving individual welfare and those who deliver post, parcels and food, keeping us supplied and safe and for surgeries, nurses, pharmacists and social services.
